A PENSIONER was assaulted when he confronted a man who was jumping up and down on his car.
The 79-year-old man was returning to his car in Beaconsfield Road, Fareham, early one evening last week when he saw the man on his car.
When he asked him to stop, the victim was punched in the forehead and kicked in the chest. Fortunately, the pensioner only suffered bruising but was left shocked.
Fareham PC Amanda Williams said: 'This is a nasty attack on an innocent member of the public and an incident of callous criminal damage.
'The victim was understandably shocked by finding a man damaging his car, and it's lucky he did not receive worse injuries when he was assaulted.'
The assault happened around 6pm on December 21. The attacker is described as black, about 20 and was wearing dark clothing.
Any information to Fareham police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
