A centre for children with cerebral palsy has benefited from the efforts of 20 people pounding the streets in a half-marathon.
The Rainbow Centre, based at Cams Alders in Fareham, is to receive a share of the £1,800 raised by the staff of mortgage broker The Place 4 Mortgages.

Jon Walker, managing director of the Southampton company, led the team which covered the 13 miles from Stockbridge to Romsey in just over four hours. He gave a cheque for the full amount to the local branch of the Rotary which will split the money between several local charities.

Mr Walker said: 'It was a great effort by everyone who took part. Being a local company, we are all about supporting local causes and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

'Next year we will be hoping to take on the full 26.2 miles.' It was part of an annual event organised by the Rotary which saw 400 people take part and raise thousands for charity.

Rotary member Bob Chegwidden said: 'We applaud people like Jon and his team for their incredible efforts and dedication to raising money for charity.'
