Harry Redknapp has threatened to sack four Pompey youngsters following their behaviour during the FA Cup final celebrations.
The Blues boss is furious with the unnamed quartet over their post-Wembley antics last month.

None featured in the 1-0 triumph over Cardiff which secured a first FA Cup win for 69 years.

Yet their post-match celebrations involving heavy drinking had Redknapp seething.

And he has hinted the players could be facing the chop.

He said: 'These four lads didn't play in the final, but they couldn't even put their beer down on the bus.

'We got back for the reception and the four of them just stood there until they were invited to go home.

'They're players at my club but they might not be for much longer.

'You get these 16-year-olds who think they have cracked it and aren't prepared to work and improve and put the hours in.

'You don't get that with the foreign lads.'

Redknapp chose not identify the players involved.

His 30-strong squad for the FA Cup final contained youngsters Martin Cranie, Richard Duffy, Marc Wilson, Franck Songo'o, Asmir Begovic and Danijel Subotic.

Wilson is Irish, so I guess that's him out as well. Looks like it might be youth teamers.

None of those in the 30 are only 16 so that surely counts all of those out.
Listening to Harry talk about it on Sky led me to think they were only English 16 year olds from the youth team and excluded any non-English members of that team. My immediate thought was - they are too young to buy alcohol anyway so someone is breaking the law, whether that person was selling it from behind a bar or some person buying it for them. In which case the club should have taken immediate action to stop them drinking. They are paid employees and should be made to act professionally.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

How will Pompey fare in their crunch home clash with Manchester City tomorrow?
Pompey will add to City's woes with a comfortable home win
A single goal will be enough for the Blues
I can't see anything other than a draw
City will destroy us, again!
