Sylvain Distin is readying himself for a video nasty of Pompey's Chelsea horror show.
The defender has vowed to sit through 90 minutes of Sunday's X-rated debacle at Stamford Bridge.

It will probably be best witnessed from behind the sofa, after the Blues fell to a woeful 4-0 defeat against Luiz Felipe Scolari's (right) big guns.

But Distin is ready for what is certain to be unpleasant and uncomfortable viewing.

Harry Redknapp's side have become synonymous with defensive resilience over the past two seasons.

That went out of the window in their Premier League opener, though.
It may have been out of character, but the goals were sloppy to say the least.

Pompey set a high standard when it comes to their defensive organisation, so to see runners not being tracked, poor marking, a lack of communication and weak clearances was galling stuff.

Distin has now promised to sit through it all again in a bid to get to the bottom of why it happened.

The 30-year-old regularly watches and analyses his and his team's performances.
And he insisted it will be no different after the Chelsea thrashing, despite it being painful stuff to watch.

Distin said: 'I watch a video after every single game.
'Everyone is different and does different things.

'But I watch the video because that is what I like to do.
'I always want to learn where things went wrong and where we can improve.

'Then we might have a meeting with the team.
'You have to analyse it and then draw a line under what happened.

'You have to learn from it, then move on and start afresh.'
There is going to be no let-up for Pompey after facing the might of Chelsea.

It's the small matter of the Premier League champions next as
Manchester United visit on Monday night.

It couldn't be any harder for Redknapp's men, but Distin is demanding a suitable response after the weekend display.

The former Manchester City man has been heartened by recent efforts against United.

Pompey can look to their FA Cup success last season for cause for optimism.
And Distin feels his team matched Pompey in the Community Shield, before losing on penalties.

He is placing little stock in the 2-1 pre-season defeat in Nigeria.
Distin wants to see Pompey right the wrongs of the Chelsea thrashing – regardless of how tough the task is.

He said: 'Manchester United is a tough match to respond with.
'Over the last two big games against them, it works out a goal victory to us in playing time.

'It is difficult to react after conceding four goals, but we have to.
'It's a long season. We have to forget about Chelsea and react.'

Looks like some one got out of bed the wrong side this morning. First comment of the day already deleted. It must have been bad.

Harry should make the whole team what the recording, when he gets his players back from England duty.

Surely they should all be watching the games every week as part of the whole training and preperation process - even if they won 4-0 they would still see areas to improve upon......

I think that all they will learn from the video is that Chelsea performed better that Man U did a week earlier, and far better than any club team I have seen in years. I don't think that any other Premier League team would have fared better than Pompey did.

The one thing we need to remember is that it was the first game of the season and it was chelsea! They have set the bar high this season, Scolari has said he wants to win everything, so his top top players are going to start off well to keep the others out, they have to impress him. The team is more or less the same as last year, so how can alot of pompey fans get on harry and the teams back about one performance? I think the result will give a few ego's a dent, some players who just think all they have to do is turn up should think again, we do have plenty of players for place's and we could used 2 or 3 diffrent systems but what is the point in changing something that needs time to gel. 442 is a good formation if you have the right players in the right position. And thats what is now needed. Some of you portsmouth fans sound like man united fans moaning and thinking we have the right to be respected just becasue we won the FA cup, well everything takes time, and that is something that we have. Come the end of the season we will be riding high and scum will be blowing all the bubbles from the bottom of the Pepsi league, a double party for the blue half of the south.....

How will Pompey fare in their crunch home clash with Manchester City tomorrow?
Pompey will add to City's woes with a comfortable home win
A single goal will be enough for the Blues
I can't see anything other than a draw
