Former Fratton favourite John Durnin has predicted a top-eight Premiership for Pompey this year.
Durnin said he was confident Harry Redknapp's team would turn round what he called a 'stuttering start' to seal another successful year.

He spoke of his times at Fratton Park during a promotion bash in Liverpool for a new online poker site 10KingsPoker.com

Durnin, who played 181 times for Pompey in a six-year spell that began in 1993, talked fondly of his time at the club, and of the city itself.

He chatted about enjoying the hospitality of naval messes in the city, although surprisingly for a man dubbed Johnny Lager by fans, he revealed that 'rocket-fuel' cider was his brew of choice.

Was John Durnin 'great'? I think you'll find he 'predicts' as well.

So Durnin is a Pompey "great"? He wasn't a bad player by any means, but he wouldn't make it into anyone's All Time Pompey XI. Jeez, Colin Garwood and Jeff Hemmerman have a better claim to "greatness" and nobody remembers them!

Oh really Danny!? You and I both remember Colin Garwood and Jeff Hemmerman.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

How will Pompey fare in their crunch home clash with Manchester City tomorrow?
Pompey will add to City's woes with a comfortable home win
A single goal will be enough for the Blues
I can't see anything other than a draw
City will destroy us, again!
