Harry: We're not out of form
HARRY REDKNAPP today shot down talk Pompey are stuttering their way towards the FA Cup final.
The Blues boss dismissed the suggestion his team are out of form as they gear up for one of the biggest games in the club's history against Cardiff on May 17.
Pompey travel to Middlesbrough today bidding to avoid losing three consecutive games for the first time this season.
Redknapp's men have seen their form in the league dip, with seven points from their last six outings.
That has seen them drop to 12th in the Premier League form table, with their trip to Wembley looming large.
But Redknapp is unconcerned about that and believes performances from his team have been of a decent level.
He pointed to the displays last month as reason for his confidence.
He claimed ill-fortune was behind the defeat at Manchester City after Hermann Hreidarsson was sent off in the first half at Eastlands.
The Pompey boss said his main concern now was keeping people out of the treatment room as his team build up for English football's showpiece event.
Speaking ahead of today's game with Boro, Re-dknapp said: 'We've been playing okay and I'm happy enough.
'We had a great run last month – won four and lost one.
'We were in great form. We went to West Ham and won after the semi-finals.
'I think everything which went wrong at Manchester City did go wrong.
'We gave two rubbish goals away and then Hermann got sent off at 2-1.
'If he didn't get sent off we didn't get beat.
'Even with 10 men we hit the post twice.
'There were loads of chances being created.
'I'm pleased with us and we've been fine.
'We just need to keep everyone fit now.
'It would be good now to have a bit of form to take into the FA Cup final if we could.'
Redknapp is determined to achieve what wo-uld amo-unt to a crowning glory to his own career and lead his team to FA Cup success.
It would be a fitting chapter to what has been another tumultuous period in his life.
Redknapp was arrested as part of police investigations in corruption in football last year.
Two weeks ago, he started legal proceedings against City of London Police after his home was raided as part of those investigations, with national newspaper photographers in attendance.
And last week his family were stung by the news of the death of his sister-in-law Pat Lampard.
The Pompey boss is now hoping for a glorious end to the season before a quiet summer – in both his personal and professional life.
Redknapp said: 'I'm looking forward to the summer.
'If I can identify a couple of players, Peter Storrie will get on and do the deals for them.
'I'm looking forward to trying to win the Cup and getting away really.
'I want a quiet couple of weeks in my life really.'
