Harry on lookout for loan deals

Harry Redknapp has revealed he is still in the market for a loan signing or two with the transfer window set to close within the next few days.
The window has been extended by 24 hours to close on September 1 and it seems highly unlikely the Pompey boss will put his feet up in a quest to bring in a fresh recruit.

Having already secured Armand Traore on loan from Arsenal, Redknapp is looking for at least another player to borrow to top up his squad ahead of the European adventure.

But unlike previous deadline days when he has been particularly busy, Redknapp insisted there would be no big transfers being rushed through to beat the midnight deadline.

He said: 'We're looking at only loans, really. If I could find someone really good I would get him, but other than that, we're okay.

'We've got a good squad and we've got people coming back fit.'

Traore made a promising debut on the left of midfield last night, despite missing a chunk of Arsenal's pre-season through injury.

And Redknapp was quietly impressed by his latest signing's performance.

Redknapp said: 'Traore can play anywhere down that left-hand side. He did well and I like him. He's quick and he's got a big future.

'I took a chance and played Sylvain at left-back, but he's played there for a fair part of his career.

'It was a balancing act. I thought I'd sit him in there behind the young kid and let Traore play in front of him.'

Pompey have yet to register a point in their two Premier League games so far and have also yet to score in three matches, including the Community Shield.

But Redknapp insisted the quality of opposition was the major factor behind that statistic.

He said: 'We haven't scored in three games, but we've played Manchester United twice and Chelsea, so that's a consolation. We've got another hard game at Everton this weekend.

'Out of those three games last season, we took one point.

'We might take none this year, we might take one and we might take three, but they are difficult games.'

I would not be surprised to see kranky go on the last day the money going back into the bank leaving the perfect excuse of not having enough time left to reuse the money to bring someone in!

Traore looked decent but not sure he is really the winger we need to support Crouch.
Krancjar is about the only creative attacking midfielder left so heaven help us if phill2935 is right in his belief that we may sell him

Let's hope your better finding loan players than when you spend money.Look at the money you have wasted, and now say you have no money.Nugent,Diop,Uttaka shall I carry on or will it get too embarassing for you Harry.Just take a good look at the players you want to move on YOU BOUGHT THEM ALL, remember?

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
