Jerome Thomas believes he is the one who can provide the service to allow Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe to be successful.
Thomas joins Pompey on loan from Charlton until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old winger spoke to the media after training with the first team squad this morning.

He said that Harry Redknapp was instrumental in bringing him to the club.

I don`t understand how we can benefit from loaning a Championship player. If he was any good then surely Charlton would play him, if he can`t get in Charltons team in the championship how is he going to be any good in the premiership.
Doesn`t make sense to me unless its a cheap stop gap cover until we can by SWP in January, by then he´ll realise that he`s not going to make it at Chelsea!

Not to sure about Thomas he was very highly rated as a youngster but never really moved on? im sure Harry believes he can get more from him so will just wait and see.
Although Pedro has been a great servent to this club £3 million is to good to turn down, i will never forget his last minute goal flying past a stranded David James.
I am hoping Harry has someone else lined up to replace him? but we will just have to wait and see.
Not long to go now for the opening game, i would like to see Harry play 4-3-1-2 with Niko in behind Defoe and Crouch and leave them 3 to try and break them down with a good through ball from Niko this would be are best chance and leave the other 3 in midfield to try and croud them out in midfield?
Although he may go with 3 at the back and use a Johnson and Thomas as wingbacks? Would be a bit surpised though as they would have had very little time to try out this system.
Any suggestions on how we can upset the highly over rated "big Phil" on the opening day? PUP

I think selling Mendes could be a mistake but I wish him well. He'll find it abit easier in Scotland. Don't know enough about Thomas, hope he can do a good job for us. I agree with comments about our midfield looking weaker now Mendes and Muntari have gone, just hope harry knows what he's doing!! Harry just said on sky that he didn't want to sell Pedro but had to as other players which clubs wanted to buy wouldn't to go. Obviously just happy to pick wages for sitting in the bench!!!

I am very concerned about Pedro going, only last week he played for us at Wembley so must of been in Harrys plans now he has gone and also Muntari i feel that our midfield has been severely weakened. I hope Harry has a surprise up his sleeve with another signing coming in because I feel we need a hard tackling, passing midfielder, I'm sure something will come to light.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
