Muntari poised for Portsmouth exit

Sulley Muntari is expected to complete a £12m move to Inter Milan in the next 48 hours.
The Ghana international is reportedly poised to sign a four-year contract with the Italian champions

Inter boss Jose Mourinho has turned to the 23-year-old after giving up hope of signing Frank Lampard this summer.

It represents a sizeable profit for Pompey on a player they bought for £7m last season and went on to establish himself as a first-team regular.

Muntari made 33 appearances for the Blues, scoring five goals.

great deal! Muntari is a great footballer, but he gave the ball away for too often and never really saw a pass!!

We can now keep Mendes and Davis who are better footballers in my humble opinion and sign SWP and Shorey.

need a left winger now too, can't rely on Kranjcar to play the whole year again. and seeing he's an attacking midfielder he didnt score or set too many up last year. Loved to see us get SWP but don't want Shorey.......

Muntari was a good player but over-rated and isnt worth 12m quid. He gave the ball away a lot and apart from those two goals at Villa his contribution as a goal scorer or creator were fairly limited. We need to hold onto Mendes and / or Davis now but if we can get the money spent on SWP the squad will be stronger for it.

There should be no excuse for signing SWP now. Harry said he had to sell to buy SWP, so now he will have the cash. Muntari did a good job for us but Mendes does also, and is IMO a bettr all round footballer. One other positive is that it will be one less player away on ACON duty in 2010 and a sizeable profit made !!

The more I think about this deal the better it gets.....Muntari is the poor mans Diarra. The best game Diarra had last year was the cup final when Mendes sat back, played sensible 5 and 10 yard passes and left Diarra to bomb forward. Bring it on next year.
