Pompey are in talks with Spurs over a £7m deal for Giovani dos Santos, according to reports.
The Mexican playmaker has struggled since arriving at White Hart Lane from Barcelona last summer.

He has not been a regular under Harry Redknapp and does not appear to figure in the manager's long-term plans.

Dos Santos has been linked with a move back to his homeland, while French champions Lyon have also been credited with an interest.

The 19-year-old stated earlier this week that he was happy at Spurs and wanted to try and forge a successful career in England.

But he may be tempted by the prospect of first-team football at Fratton Park.

Meanwhile, another reported Pompey target, Amdy Faye, will not be returning to Fratton Park.

The Stoke midfielder has signed a new contract with the Britannia Stadium outfit, extending his stay until the summer of 2011.

The Senegalese international move to Stoke from Charlton last summer after a successful trial.

Faye, 31, signed for Pompey in August 2003, arriving from French Ligue one outfit Auxerre.

He played 48 times for the Blues and scored four goals before moving to Newcastle in 2005.

Yeah right, Tony Adams said and I quote, "we need players that are fit and have played regularly in the premiership so that they can hit the ground running" When did this guy play last and how many games has he played in the prem????????!

how would one convince (player looked at) number 151-152 that he IS wanted and not just a last option??? a 7 million, unfit, untried premiership last option, I would like to suggest that Adams get him self a spin-dcotor, but having said that I am encouraged by the news that we are trying to get Sturridge in, maybe Adams read my post from last month?

Not sure if this lad's worth 7 mill...I would have much rather had Bullard and Nolan for a combined fee of 10...Then relegation would have no longer even been an issue.............

If he signs and its a big If! He should be a good signing, after all, the deal is bound to cost us very little if anything, (the way transfers are structured these days, probably just write off what Spurs owe on £efoe). The guy is a youngster so there's room for improvement, and more importantly a future profit! And in all likelihood wont be on the big wages that we can't afford at the moment (unlike Nolan and Bullard).

Hang on a minute...where did this £7m suddenly appear from? Last week we didn't have two shillings to rub together. I'll believe it when it happens.
