Pompey have released details of their ticket allocation for the community shield against Manchester United.
The club have been given 26,218 tickets in the south end of Wembley by the FA for the season curtain raiser at Wembley on August 10.

Tickets will be sold by Ticketmaster over a three week period from July 7 to July 28.

Season ticket holders,
junior blues and club members are all guaranteed a ticket and will be given priority.

The first tickets will go on sale on July 7 to season ticket holders in the south stand upper, followed by sales for North Stand Upper on July 8. These tickets will cost £40 or £30 for adults, and £35 and £25 for seniors and children.

Fans from South Stand Lower will be able to buy their tickets on July 9, with North Stand Lower purchasing theirs on July 10, and supporters from the West Stand able to buy theirs on July 11.

These will cost £30 or £20 for adults and £25 and £15 for seniors and children.

Junior Blues members for 2007/2008 season will be able to buy their tickets from July 7 to July 11 with an option of buying a ticket for their parent or guardian too. These will be priced at £30 for adults and £25 for children.

Club members will have the opportunity to buy tickets between July 14 and July 18 at a price of £20 or £15 for adults and £15 and £10 for seniors and children.

Members and season ticket holders who missed the chance to get their tickets on their allocated day will be given another chance between July 21 and July 25.

The remaining tickets will go on general sale on July 28.

100 pairs of tickets will be made available to disabled and visually impaired fans by postal application.

Ticketmaster will charge an extra £3.50 per ticket and £4.90 for registered postal delivery.

Season ticket holders can book up to eight tickets together if they have the client reference number.

The club have also made it clear that purchasing tickets via a third party could result on a ban in future purchasing by both the FA and the club.

Fans can book their tickets by calling 0844 847 1898.

Great because i work every saturday, and can only get to evening or sunday games i have to struggle to get a ticket. No disrespect i would love a season ticket to make sure i get tickets but how much is it!! Why oh why can they not just be on general sale with say a limit of 2 or 4 per person? Yet again i will have to see what can be done by friends and family to try and get a ticket just like the FA Cup. Portsmouth FC please just put them on general sale.

all fans should refuse to buy a ticket, untll they get rid of ticket master. £8-40 on top of your ticket is a rip off.and as for buying from a third party, does that not include ticket master or your mate whos a season ticket holder and can get 8?

While I have some sympathy for Krayzee-johnnyb, I guess that there are plenty of 'supporters' who have a valid reason for not having a season ticket, but found they were able to attend the cup semi-final, cup final and now the Charity Shield. As a long-term season ticket holder, pre-premier league days, I consider that my loyalty then warrants some loyalty from the club now, in terms of priority treatment in getting these tickets.

STOP CRYING Krayzee_johnnyb.
YOU'RE THE SAME AS ALL THOSE PEOPLE CRYING ABOUT NOT GETTING SEMI AND FINAL TICKETS.
YES YOU CAN'T ALL AFFORD SEASON TICKETS BUT WHY ARE YOU NOT MEMBERS IF YOUR SUCH LOYAL FANS!!!!!!!!!!
TO BECOME A MEMBER IS LESS THAN A CUP FINAL TICKET, WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY I'D SAY.
YOUR PATHETIC GLORY BOYS, NOT FANS!!!!!!!!!!

Open Letter to Peter Storrie.
How can you justify allowing Ticketmaster to rip off the fans with their charges for Charity shield tickets..."Ticketmaster is handling the whole operation again which means an extra £3.50 per ticket booked as well as a £4.90 registered delivery postal charge".?
I know the actual tickets are a reasonable price this time, but Ticketmaster are taking close to 25% in charges, an obscene amount!
Fans won't do it, but the best way to express disapproval is to boycott the match.
It is simply not good enough Peter! You want fans to support the new stadium bid, and I know we will. But have you ever heard of quid pro quo?

ive only had two saturdays off this year, both to watch pompey, and i work 6 days a week, 60 to 70 hours a week. ive been following pompey for more than 16 years, have travelled all over, spent countless amounts of merchandise. I dont see why people think they are more of a fan because they go everyweek? I went to the semi final, couldnt go to the final, because of work. MR POMPEY FROM STUBBINGTON you are an idiot!! You say we are not fans, why should i become a member when the only benefit i will get is the possibility of a ticket before they go on general sale, that i may use once or twice if we go far in a cup, and how often has that happened in 70 years?

£600 per year on a season ticket guarantees me a ticket to Fratton Park for home league games, cup games (pay extra for) and to Wembley for Cup Finals and BIG games. I pay this because I WANT to support MY team and SHOW it in as many games as possible (Home and Away). Yes I may be fortunate to be able to afford it and I rarely miss a home game.

£20 (or whatever it is) buys annual Membership which virtually guarantees anyone else a ticket for whatever games they want to see. It certainly guarantees preference over none members. A small price to pay I would suggest.

So for non season ticket holders - the answer is simple. A small outlay to SHOW your support for PFC.

Question: why do only South Stand Upper and North Stand Upper get access to the better tickets (assuming that the more expensive priced tickets are the better ones)? I don't see how that's fair...?

As for the general ticket allocation, I think giving members/season ticket holders priority over non-members is the lesser of two-evils. There will always be people who can't get tickets, but at least this way ensures that the people who have gone to every match for the past 20 years will be getting one.

That says it all Pompey_Pikey!!!
Why should you become a member?? ERRRRR COS YOUR A POMPEY FAN AND WANT TO REMAIN PART OF THE CLUB EVEN IF YOU CANT AFFORD A SEASON TICKET!!!!
If you dont join the club your not part of it!!!
If your not part of it why would you expect to get a ticket?
Your a glory buy fan who just thinks they have a right to tickets for the big games.

STOP CRYING!!!!!
