Peter Storrie has blasted rumours Lassana Diarra can leave Pompey for £10m.
And he has struck out at the scare-mongers threatening to undermine the Blues' season.

Latest reports have claimed Diarra has a clause in his contract to be sold for £10m.

That would ensure Pompey would be left short-changed for undoubtedly their most bankable asset.

It's a rumour vehemently denied by Storrie, who has been increasingly infuriated by a string of stories aimed at disrupting the Blues.

Now Pompey's executive chairman has called on fans to ignore the mischief-making.

Storrie said: 'There is no clause in his contract whatsoever – it is absolute rubbish.

'Let's get this straight, we are not looking to sell Diarra. Also, if someone came in and wanted him they would have to pay an awful lot of money, credit crunch or no credit crunch.

'He's is a fantastic football player and I think will go on to be one of the best midfield players there is in the world.

'If they come here and offer us Mickey Mouse money – not a chance.

'I have to say to the supporters, please don't listen to the rubbish and the nonsense.

'There are stories every day knocking Pompey and I think the vast majority of fans are as bored of it as we are to be honest.'

The spotlight has refused to move away from the Blues ever since the shock departure of Harry Redknapp for Spurs more than three weeks ago.

Claims over the club's ownership and the futures of star players such as Diarra and Jermain Defoe has created uncertainty among many supporters.

And Storrie reiterated Pompey supporters have nothing to be alarmed about.

He added: 'We're bored of all this discussion of finance, we're bored of all this discussion about whether Sacha owns the club or doesn't.

'It really has got to a point where there is no point us talking about it any more – and I hope our fans understand why.

'Why should we keep answering these every single day? Every day there is some other rubbish about bids put in and this player going. It's complete and utter nonsense. We are fine, we are very, very happy with our club at the moment.

'If things are going to change, then we will tell everybody.

'At this moment in time, it's work as normal. It's only because we are successful that this is going on.

'We've got a good set-up here, we've got good players and there's jealousy coming in. It looks like these people have just started on West Ham. So we'll probably come off as flavour of the month, they're going to be the next.'

I do feel sympathy for Storrie - if he denies it, he'll be called a liar and abused on here and elsewhere and if he refuses to comment then he'll be criticised for not commenting and putting fans' minds at rest. But the only way to prove what he says is not to sell Diarra in January. It is making me nervous, though - we'll struggle without him.

What 'scare mongers' like you and your paper Neil? It is the likes of you lot that try to unsettle players every day with storries like the Distin one last week (a complete non story).

You lot have got more front than Blackpool..

Well said, Mr. Beattie to you. The amount of nonsense The News prints these days is incredible. The standard of journalism is shocking. Why let the facts get in the way of a sensational story ? It's about time the paper stopped muck raking and started showing Pompey in a positive light. It is a laughing stock. PUP !

I also see the South African takeover story is still doing the rounds.
Why do you at the News feel that you have to create an uneasy atmosphere for the true supporters . If you cant
give us concrete proof of your reporting then give it a rest please.

Peter Storrie "has been increasingly infuriated by a string of stories aimed at disrupting the Blues". This "string of stories" has mainly come from the local paper, The News, and its trouble-making hacks, who know very little about football.

Mr Beattie to you,

If some of you actualy spoke to some of the people at the News you would instantly realise just how much distain they have for the 'paying public'. The only person I have spoken to at the News that was worth a bolt was Howard Frost on the sports desk (Top man), he could actually hold a convesration. The rest I would not give you tuppence for I'm afraid.
The News have NEVER supported the Club, infact with regards to a new ground I would say the opposite is true, they went out their way to give a platform to the NIMBYS at Farlington and have been less than useful ever since.

I rarely post on here but I could not hold back any longer with some of these posts. So many of you are such blind fans it's untrue - criticising anything said against Pompey.

Mr Beattie To You - how exactly is Distin gobbing off about his fears for Pompey anyone's fault but Distin's? The last time I checked he was a Pompey player so I'm not quite sure why the local media are to blame for simply telling us what he has said. The same goes for Adams talking about Defoe yesterday.

SailingISasport...
The News do not merely report what is said, they sensationalize it out of all proportion.
FYI - I am not a 'Blind Fan' - My friend and I actually christened those types 'Rose Tinted' and were roundly condemned for it.
The News are anti-Pompey and I don't care what anyone says.
Always have been always will be.

Direct quote from the Distin story, what Paper is he reading these stories in daily??

'Every day I read the newspaper and there is some kind of problem. I don't know what the truth is".
9

Mr Beattie to you,

18/11/2008 13:05:15
Surely you get my point sailing??

'Things do get exaggerated all the time. When Harry left there were 25 managers coming in – the same with the coaches.

'Then we were all supposed to be going to Tottenham.

'You think about it. I wouldn't say it disturbs us, but every day you wonder who is going to come and who is going to go.

Do you want anymore??

Seeing as Distin and pretty much every other Pompey player live nowhere near Portsmouth, I doubt it's The News. Not sure whether you read nationals, but there's Pompey stories in them every day. An example is Jamo pledging his future to us. They turned that into 'Jamo fears player exit'
