Portsmouth have sign Manchester City defender Tal Ben-Haim.
The Israeli international defender signs on a four-year contract.

The 27-year-old, who has also played for Bolton and Chelsea, last featured for City in December, before going out on loan to Sunderland.

Ben Haim could make his Pompey debut on 12 September against Bolton, the club that brought him to England in 2004.

The Israeli centre-back then signed for Chelsea in 2007, before moving to City a year later.

Pompey boss Paul Hart brings in Ben-Haim as a direct replacement for Sylvain Distin who moved to Everton.

Good news!
On the other hand, hope Kranjcar stays. He is the only quality player left in our squad!

This is the sort of signing that makes me think SAF is serious. To be fair, since SAF took over last week, we've signed more quality than I thought we would have. I wonder if we will sign Benjani today as well as managing to hang on to Jamo and Kranky.
By the way Hobbsie, Everton won on sunday.

Well good to start the day with an inane comment. Many more during the day to come.

Quality - Brown - Kaboul - James. Shall I continue?

Sam

Certainly not a discouraging start to the SAF period.

Tal, Brown, Smith, O'Hara. Boateng, Dindane. More to come today?

Yep the future has promise, positive promise.

When I think about it we are beginning to Tal(ly) up into a quite good team.

The doom and gloom will not agree, but then if they were offered a night in a brothel they would spend so long arguing over who was unsuitable, the girls would have gone home.

I think the best news we could get today is a financial one - Like al fahim in joint deal with storrie consortium?

All players coming in are good but a money man would be much better

I do not think the door is shut on the deal yet, but trfs will take priority today.

What a very good suggestion 'Robsquad'. It would be brilliant for Al Fahim to do a deal with PS's lot. I wonder what that would bring ???

I think Kranjcar going is a godsend. At the end of the season we would of got nothing, but now we can get someone in who can attack and defend, but more importantly, we can attack down the left handside as well as the right if we get the right person in. I always thought he was lightweight, and I couldn't see what he had that everyone was shouting about.

PUP.
