Pompey have unveiled Tony Adams as the new manager of Portsmouth Football Club.
At a press conference at Fratton Park, Adams signed a two and a half year deal.

It has also been announced that Peter Storrie has been appointed executive chairman.

Adams said: 'It's fantastic. I'm very honoured, it's a great opportunity and on
e I would be mad to turn down.

'I'm very excited, I can't wait to get going. I've been here two and a half years and it was kind of business as usual this morning.

'We've got some great players here at Portsmouth and I've been kind of responsible, with Harry, for bringing them to the club.

'I am going to take this opportunity and risk, because Harry's done a fantastic job for this club and is a hard act to follow. But I think it is my time, I think I am ready.'

Dont comment often but am sure this is the best situation in the short term. He does know the club and players and will add stability. Not sure of his ability to attract top players tho'.... A director of football needed anyone??

Hope he does well, and with the respect he has from fans and players, lets hope he can have some success

The only problem is his 1st proper match in charge, Liverpool arent going to be easy! But on the other hand, lets hope he is given a chance before being the object of upset fans if he doesnt win many upcoming matches, as he isnt going to get it right straight away, but some fans seem to think he should, but luckily its only a minority of them!
