John Utaka misses the crucial Uefa Cup clash because of a hip injury.
But Sol Campbell was on the troublesome flight to Germany yesterday and could feature as he recovers from a toe problem.

Younes Kaboul is out with a shin injury but Niko Kranjcar and Jermain Defoe are fit. Lassana Diarra is still out with an ankle injury.

The likes of Jerome Thomas, David Nugent, Lauren and Djimi Traore are unavailable because they are not registered in the Uefa Cup squad.

Pompey boss Tony Adams said: 'This is a very tough place to come, Wolfsburg are a very good team and quite phenomenal at this stadium.

'The record is very good, it's going to be a tough game but the facts are that if we do win both of last games we are through.

'We can't play two at once, it's one at a time and we are looking to get a good result tonight. AC Milan wasn't easy but I thought this would definitely be a tough game all along. We aren't going to worry, though.'

Wolfsburg striker Grafite looks certain to miss out after suffering a horror injury in training last week.

He fractured a bone in his inner ear after colliding with team-mate Sascha Riether's knee in training. Although he's on the road to recovery, this game looks is too soon.

Ashkan Dejagah is expected to partner Edin Dzeko in attack, while compatriot Zvjez-dan Misimovic will look to dominate the midfield.

It's between Daniel Reiche and the more defensive Cristian Zaccardo for the right-back berth.

Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath said: 'We need one point to be quite sure of qualification and we are going all out to get it.

'To do that at the very least we have to play with a winning mentality, so we are going out to win.

'The English team has to win but we really have to step on it.

'We really want to make it through to the next stage of the Uefa Cup for the very first time.

'And why shouldn't we aim to finish top of the group? We are, I believe, capable of achieving that.'

Planet Earth calling The News....

Are you aware of just how bad John Utaka is? I assume not given your ridiculous "Utaka set to miss game" comments. And whilst on the subject, can you stop the now weekly interviews with him talking about how up for the next game he is. Makes me wonder if anyone at The News actually knows anything about football.
