A NEW 40ft Army yacht is due to be unveiled in Gosport.
The vessel 'British Soldier' will be officially launched at Fort Blockhouse.

Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mary Fagan will be guest of honour and conduct the naming and launching ceremony by cracking a bottle of champagne across the bow.

Shortly before this there will be an introduction by Lieutenant General John Kiszely, Admiral of the Army Sailing Association, and 'British Soldier' will be blessed by Padre Jim Aitchison.

The ceremony, which starts at 11.30am, will conclude with a fly-past by the Army Air Corps' helicopter aerobatic display team The Blue Eagles.

Later the crew will take the yacht out into the Solent for a sail to show off her speed and sailing agility.
