A council which admitted spying on dog walkers has been caught out itself – for failing to empty its bins.
Gosport Borough Council sparked fury when it admitted employing undercover staff to catch owners not clearing up their dog mess.

But furious Sue Evans said the council should instead empty its bins more regularly to stop mess from ruining a beauty spot.

She took these snaps of three bins at Stokes Bay, Gosport, overflowing with dog mess and litter, while walking her dog.

Ms Evans also claims workers for council contractors Enterprise sit in their vans for up to 45 minutes most mornings admiring the view from a nearby car park.

The 52-year-old, of Sedgewick Close, Gosport, said: 'I'm incensed. They waste their money spying on dog walkers, but they don't empty the bins.

'The bins stink and are a complete eyesore. They haven't been emptied for a week.

'But it's not only that.

'Every morning there are lots of Enterprise trucks and vans parked in the car park with their council-employed drivers drinking tea and coffee, taking in the view and whittling away their working hours. The council keeps on going on about how it saves money but the people in the vans aren't clearing out the bins.'

Art teacher Ms Evans, who teaches after-school classes in four Gosport schools, said the bins were all within a quarter of a mile of each other.

Dave Jago, environmental services manager at the council, said the work is carried out by Enterprise, which is contracted by the council to empty the bins.

He said: 'They should empty the bins when they are 75 per cent full and these were more like 150 per cent full.

'Enterprise are as concerned about this as we are and they will be looking into why it has happened and deal with the staff involved.'

He added that Enterprise workers take their morning teabreak at Stokes Bay car park but bosses will look into whether they are taking too long.

Lets hope the Enterprise workers have paid to park in the car park for their tea-break.

You think you have a problem in Gosport, you should see the time Colas employees take for their tea breaks in Southsea
