Cody became the last baby to be born in the labour ward at Portsmouth's St Mary's Hospital when he arrived at 2.41pm yesterday.
His proud mum, 21-year-old Tara Living, was the final mum-to-be to give birth at the site, which has seen the delivery of thousands of Portsmouth babies since it opened in 1967.
Mums in Portsmouth will now give birth in the new maternity unit at the rebuilt Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
Cody, who was born by Caesarian section, weighed in at 8lbs 3oz.
Speaking to The News, Tara, of The Links, Gosport, said: 'I was just so overwhelmed when I saw him.
'It was very painful but definitely worth it! They told me just as I was about to go and have my C-section that I was going to be the last at St Mary's, but at that point I just wanted to get him out.
'But now it is great to be able to say Cody is the last baby to be born at St Mary's, I'm really proud.'
Tara and her partner, Ian Andrew, named Cody after a penguin in the 2007 film Surf's Up.
Tara said: 'That may seem a bit silly but we both just really love the name.'
Ian said he was delighted his little boy was the last baby to be born at the hospital.
The 22-year-old said: 'He has certainly made history and that means quite a lot. Both my brothers were born in this hospital, I was born in West Sussex, but this just makes it top notch.
'It is amazing. I am just over the moon, I can't believe it, I'm so proud of Tara, she was amazing.
'We are just looking forward to taking him home now.'
Tara's midwife Lucy Quick added: 'It's exciting to be moving to a new hospital but I'm sad to be leaving St Mary's.
'It is a privilege to help any baby but this is extra special as he is the last St Mary's baby.'

Trish and Greg Jackson Brown with their son and daughter
THE LAST TWINS BORN AT THE HOSPITALProud parents Trish and Greg Jackson Brown were the last couple to see their twins born at St Mary's Hospital.
Jackson James, weighing, and Lois Lily, were born after a nine-hour labour for mum Trish, 33, at the centre on Friday.
Trish, from Dover Road, Copnor, said: 'We were really pleased. My mum and I were born at St Mary's and I wanted my babies to be born there, too. It's a real privilege to be the last mum to give birth to twins there.
'The care was excellent. They were so helpful – the midwives did a really good job. We can't thank them enough.'
Maternity services were transferred from St Mary's Hospital last night after 47 years at the Milton Road site.
Mums-to-be who want to give birth in Portsmouth will now go to the new £256m Queen Alexandra superhospital in Cosham.
Facilities at the 90-bed Mary Rose Maternity Centre include two portable birth pools – the first on the south coast – and five scanning rooms.
Each of the labour wards and four-bedded post-natal rooms will be en suite and there is space to add another 10 beds.
