HAVE you captured an image of war?
Falkland and Northern Ireland veterans and their families are invited to share pictures of life in the forces – pre-conflict, during and after – at a special photographic exhibition.

'Memory of Fire: the war of images and images of war' will be held at the Falkland Veterans' Foundation in Stoke Road, Gosport, next Thursday between 7pm and 8.30pm.

Hosted by photographer Julian Germain, locally- owned photographs will take pride of place in the exhibition.

Organiser Les Heyhoe said: 'Julian is potentially interested in any photographic records that may have been kept, no matter if they might have faded or become tatty.

'The point is that we are well used to seeing "professional" images. What has rarely, if ever, been seen are these personal views by those directly involved.

'The personal nature of this material might offer a new perspective and might generate a more thoughtful response from audiences in support of HM forces.'

For more information, call Mr Heyhoe on 07950 934888 or e-mail les@heyhoe.com
