A BUS driver has driven his bus for the last time as he prepares to retire after 35 years of service.
Michael Crockford has spent three-and-a-half decades working for Stagecoach, and he got a big shock when he arrived at work yesterday morning to see a vintage bus waiting for him.

Mr Crockford, 69, from Leigh Park, said: 'It was a big surprise. It was very emotional. It was something I never expected to happen, but it was a fitting end.'

Mr Crockford has spent many years raising money for charity while working at Stagecoach, and he used to dress up as Father Christmas each year for the children.

He added: 'The charity work I've done couldn't have taken place without the support of my family, friends and colleagues at work.'

Collegaue Jason Rayner said: 'I have been working with him for 14 years. He's a really nice chap. He's one of the best drivers we have ever had.'

Mr Crockford had a special drive around Havant and Leigh Park in a bus for the last time, accompanied by family, friends and colleagues.
