The thought of applying to Oxbridge did not even enter this budding architect's head until half-way through her time at Havant College.
But Stephanie Crombie did so well in her first year she was encouraged to try Cambridge – and thanks to fantastic A-level results she got in.

The 18-year-old from Record Road, Emsworth, got top marks in art, biology and maths and will read architecture.

She said: 'If it wasn't for this college I would never have thought about Cambridge. Now I can't wait to go. My parents were more nervous than me this morning – I really hope they're proud.

'I can't stop smiling now, I'm just so pleased.'

Stephanie is one of 12 students who applied to Oxford and Cambridge and they all managed to get the grades they needed.

She will begin the course in October.
