A dead man found floating in a canal is believed to be Polish.
The body was found in Chichester Canal, between Chichester and Hunston, at 10.55am on Wednesday.

Police believe the man is aged 44, although his identity has not yet been formally confirmed.

He is described as being 5ft 8in, of large build, with a moustache and light brown receding hair.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, a beige waistcoat, blue jeans and white trainers.

Officers investigating his death are currently treating it as unexplained but have appealed for witnesses.

Detective Inspector Mark Gowling, from Chichester CID, said: 'We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man of this description between Friday, August 29 and Wednesday, September 3 so that we can piece together the man's movements before his death.'

Anyone with information should to call Sussex Police on 0845 607 0999, quoting the serial number 539 of September 3, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
