Good friends Heidi Jones and Kelly Parham, 18, had something to smile about after nervously opening their letters together.
The Havant College students both achieved straight As.

Heidi, from Stakes Road, Purbrook will study law at Cambridge after getting As in maths, philosophy, English literature and law. She hopes to be a barrister.

She said: 'I'm absolutely ecstatic. I was terrified last night. The past two weeks have been spent thinking about it.'

Kelly, from The Dale, Widley, got As in graphic design, fine art and media. She will study art at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in London.

'My dream is to be a graphic designer,' she said. 'It's great to be next to Heidi getting my results.'
