The presentation of the team cup, individual rider shield and the draw for a mountain bike for the British Heart Foundation's Bourne Sponsored Cycle Ride that took place in May, was made recently.
Before the awards were presented organiser Dave Young said: 'On behalf of the Havant Branch of the BHF I would like to thank all the riders, sponsors, and helpers, including the Southbourne Lions and the Solent Veteran and Tricycle Club, for making i
t such a successful day.
'I am pleased to announce that the riders have raised £1,082.50 in sponsorship money with possibly a few more pounds yet to come in.
'This was an excellent effort by the riders involved and the money will make a valuable contribution to the work of the BHF.
'Also special thanks to the Bourne Leisure Centre for allowing us to use their venue for this event, and to Emsworth Car and Cycle Ltd for supplying the Mountain Bike draw prize.'
Margaret Eva, headteacher at the Bourne Community College, made presentations to:
Angela Brown, last year's winner of the mountain bike, and runner-up in raising individual sponsorship, who this year won a shield and certificate for collecting the most individual sponsor money of £100;
John Travis the runner-up for this award received a certificate for raising £70;
The Jammie Road Crew of team members Debbie Martin, Michelle Marum, Hannah Marum, Benoit Soenen, James Marum, Rob Reeves and Matthew Marum won the cup and certificates for the most team/family sponsor money, by raising £300.
Tom's Gang of members Tom Austin, John Austin and George Laver were the runners-up receiving Certificates for raising £155.
Riders who collected more than £100 will also receive BHF sweatshirts.
Mrs Eva made the draw for the Orange Juice mountain bike valued at £190, which was presented by Sarah Adams from Emsworth Car & Cycle Ltd. It went to a delighted Debbie Martin, a member of the Jammie Road Crew.
