Cancer patients in Portsmouth and south-east Hampshire can now get support from fellow sufferers through an on-line support network.
The Cancer Buddies Network is designed to link patients for support and friendship on a one-to-one basis.

Members can search for a buddy by type of cancer, location, age, gender and interests.

Founder Jan Rutter said: 'When I first heard those heart-stopping words "you have cancer", my comfortable little world changed for ever, though I was aware of another woman who was receiving the same devastating news.

'We became the best of buddies and discussed all the things happening to us that nobody else understood because we were the ones experiencing it, feeling it and living through it.'
