PATIENTS are being urged to tell their stories as part of the National Health Service's diamond milestone.
The NHS helped pioneer medical practice and has affected millions of lives since being founded in July 1948.
Now Portsmouth City Teaching Primary Care and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS trusts are seeking people from all walks of life to tell their sto
ry of the NHS.
They are looking for people who worked in the NHS 60 years ago or were one of the first babies born under the system, or people with memories of Queen Alexandra Hospital, St Mary's Hospital or St James's Hospital.
They are also keen to hear stories from patients whose lives have been saved by the NHS in dramatic circumstances or those who have survived a life-threatening illness as a result of the care and treatment they have received.
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust spokeswoman Pat Forsyth said: 'We'd like people to get in contact with us if they are happy to share their story.
'The birthday countdown has already begun.'
