Have your say

Everyone has the odd bad day every now and then. But Jack Bauer had more than most.

24 was a fantastic show, full of action and excitement that really managed to capture my imagination.

Every season had 24 episodes that added-up to one day, each unfolding in real time which was emphasized by an on-screen digital clock that popped-up every so often.

The series began with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) working for the Los Angeles based Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), for whom he is a highly proficient and respected agent, who gets the job done with his ‘ends justify the means’ approach.

A typical day in the life of Bauer would see him trying to balance his rapidly disintegrating personal life while being called on to protect and the serve the country that he loves.

Throughout the seasons, Bauer raced against the clock to thwart multiple terrorist plots that included presidential assassination attempts, nuclear, biological and chemical threats, cyber attacks and corporate corruption.

This almost never ended well for Jack, who lost his wife, battled his brother and was handed over to the Chinese as a diplomatic prisoner.

The show ran for eight seasons before coming to an end in 2010. Bauer will be returning in 2012 with 24 The Movie.
