Can anyone take a guess where this photograph was taken? I think it might be along Pembroke Road.

Air hostesses Diana Hart-Thomas and her colleague, identified only as Sylvia, at Portsmouth airport in 1962.

Channel Airways began flying to the Channel Islands from Portsmouth in 1955 but left the city after two of its aircraft crashed on landing on August 15, 1967.

The grass runways were not long enough when wet for aircraft big enough to be economic to fly, and the airport had to close in 1973.
