With this series of pictures we escape the gloomy weather with a day trip to the Isle of Wight in the summer of 1984.

We begin our journey at Ryde and travel down the east side of the island spotting buses of Southern Vectis as we go.

All today’s pictures are from John Kirby of Stubbington Avenue, North End, Portsmouth.
