Part of a large complex of military buildings, Victoria Barracks, Southsea, were built in 1880 and occupied by the King’s Own Scottish Borderers until 1939.

The barracks were taken over by the Royal Navy and finally demolished in the 1960s.

The distinctive central tower was hit during the Second World War.
