It’s the late 1930s and this open-topped Provincial bus, right, is parked somewhere in Gosport while the driver and conductor take their break.

These two pictures of the same bus were sent to me by Peter Hotchin, of Stanmore, Middlesex.

He has dated them to the late ’30s, but what he really wants to know is where, exactly, the bus had pulled up.

He points to a sign on the railings in the background of the rear view of the bus which reads: ‘Open air swimming pool. Open daily.’

Please get in touch if you can name the location.
