Can you help Oliver’s research?

March 1962 and a naval rating signals Halt to more conventional traffic as the Saunders-Roe SRN1 crosses the seafront at Lee-on-the-Solent and returns to HMS Ariel, now the site of the Hovercraft Museum. Roles such as anti-submarine warfare, air-sea rescue and mine countermeasures were foreseen. Pictures courtesy Amberley Publishing

Spotlight hovers over Lee-on-the-Solent museum

Have your say

I have been sent a request from Natalie Rodgers of Hilary Avenue, Cosham.

Natalie tells me her seven-year-old son Oliver has been asked by his Court Lane Junior School teachers to research his home for a project.

They have been to the library and discovered who built their house and the cost, but cannot find a photograph of the avenue as it was when built in the 1930s.

I have been through The News archive and there is nothing there so I’m asking if you can help Oliver. Have you a photograph hidden away? Please call (023) 9234 3979. Thank you.
