June Bricknell would like readers’ help to put some names to faces and pinpoint where this photograph was taken and why?

This is the Portsmouth Territorial Army Band in 1956 and was based at the old Connaught Drill Hall in Stanhope Road, Landport.

June (nee Austin), of Arundel Road, Gosport, was a 17-year-old side drummer and is sitting third from the left in the second row from the back.

Meanwhile, her husband Ray has submitted this commemorative picture of the dockyard workers involved in building the broad-beamed Leander class frigate HMS Andromeda in Portsmouth.

She was the last warship to be fully built in the dockyard – laid down on May 25, 1966, launched on May 24, a year later and commissioned on December 2, 1968.

She served in the South Atlantic towards the end of the Falklands conflict in 1982 and was finally decommissioned in June 1993 and sold to India two years later.

Ray was a scaffolder when this picture was taken and can be seen sixth from the left in the second row from the front next to the man in the checked cap.

He wonders who else is still around from this picture?

Please let me know.
