This is Barry with his sister Maureen proudly displaying their coronation memorabilia.

In the picture on the right they are holding their coronation books and cups and saucers and they’re both wearing their ABC Minors caps.

Barry says: ‘If I remember rightly I had coronation socks on. The other photo was taken on the common on the Co-op’s sports field at another coronation do sponsored by the Co-op and we had different hats for the occasion.’

Barry has also found a coronation souvenir book presented to him by the vicar of All Saints Church on June 2, 1953. He believes his name was Ernest Curtis and most children were given the book. He wonders how many still have them.
