The man in this picture might be remembered by Emsworth readers as he used to have a fresh fish and poultry shop in North Street. He was also licensed to sell game.

A former Royal Marine, Ivor landed on Sword Beach in the first hour of D-Day and later joined the merchant navy before opening this shop. A son, Tony, later followed him into the trade becoming a butcher.
