Six further pictures today tracing the reconstruction of Portsmouth’s Guildhall.

They come from the album of the late Reginald Turner who, between 1955 and 1959, regularly took pictures of the rebuilding of the city’s most famous civic building.

Mr Turner had a laddermaker’s business in nearby Arundel Street so was perfectly positioned to watch the new Guildhall rise from the ashes left by German bombers in January 1941.
