Have your say

Two weeks ago I mentioned the horse-drawn bus service called The Denmead Queen and a photograph of it which was once on the wall of a pub in the village called the Mead End.

Margaret Goodwin wanted to know if it still existed.

As ever, a reader has come up trumps. This time it is Linda Paine who tells me the former pub has been bought by Denmead Baptist Church and will be used as a community centre and coffee/ice cream parlour.

Excellent news that this old building is not being demolished but is being converted and given a modern, practical use.

Linda tells me the photograph is to be refurbished and hung in the community lounge.
