The Byng name is one of the longest-established in Portsmouth.
And Marjorie Terrill has spent many years researching the family and their connections with the city.
Marjorie, of Carshalton Avenue, Drayton, has submitted these five pictures which all relate to the family on her mother’s side.
She said: ‘I have done an extensive history on the family and as far as I can see all the Byngs in Portsmouth were related, most dating back to John James Byng who was born in 1791.
Marjorie wonders if readers can help with two of these photographs.
In the group picture of the women in uniform Victoria Byng, the eldest child of Annie and Charlie Byng, is in the back row, second from the left. But Marjorie would like to know where the picture was taken.
And she would like to identify the mayor in the photograph taken outside the Guildhall.
She said Charlie Byng is on the far right with his son John next to him.
Marjorie added: ‘This is thought to be something do with Charlie’s failed attempt to become a councillor in 1919-20,’
