Most families have Christmas traditions, but Simon Hart has one which is a little out of the ordinary.
Simon, of Cross Street, Portsea, Portsmouth, and his relatives always visit the City Museum early in December for a glimpse of Christmases past.
They go to look at the mock-up of a 1950s sitting room decorated for Christmas. And in particular they are looking for a box of angel chimes.
Simon says: ‘For the past three years the boxed chimes, which once belonged to my late gran, Violent Mann, have formed part of the display.
‘They are sometimes partly assembled alongside the box, but this year they remain boxed on the table.’
Simon took the picture here of this year’s display, which will bring back festive memories for many of you.
He adds: ‘I hope the people of Portsmouth know about this room. It’s wonderful.’
