This picture brought back memories for Claire Winterford.

I used it last month as a reminder of the national bakers’ strike in 1974.

The photograph shows the queue outside an independent bakers in Medina Road, Cosham.

Claire got in touch to say that the shop was owned by her mother- and father-in-law Ted and Joyce Winterford.

She says: ‘Ted and Joyce owned the bakery until 2000 when they retired and it is now an Indian takeaway.’
