Imagine if they had done to us what we did to Berlin

Have your say

I was in Kingston Cemetery last week doing some research and accidentally stepped on this headstone which was lying flat, hidden in long grass.

It is dedicated to 14-year-old Harold John Adams, the son of Harold and Winifred who lived at 7, Hayling Avenue, Copnor.

It states that Harold was killed by enemy air action on November 11, 1940.

In fact, young Harold was severely wounded and died later in the day at St Mary’s Hospital, Milton.
