Have your say

Richard Boryer has contacted me to ask if anyone can remember a funeral of someone high-up in the navy during 1968.

Richard was based at HMS Collingwood that year and was sent with other men to Eastney Barracks for training and then to HMS Vernon.

On the day of the service they were marched to The Hard, Portsea. Mike was halted outside what is now the Tin Tin Chinese restaurant where he reversed arms.

The funeral cortege passed by and the parade was marched back to Vernon and then returned to Collingwood.

If you can remember whose funeral it was, please let me know.
