Have your say

I expect many, like me, can only remember the Fratton End at Fratton Park as it was in the late 1950s and 1960s until it was demolished in the 1980s.

Before that there was just one massive swelling in the ground nicknamed the Boilermakers’ Hump.

Pompey supporters, possibly on the Boilermakers' Hump.

Diana Shaw sent me two photographs. Her grandfather Harry Jarlett is somewhere in both.

The one on the left is of supporters possibly on the ‘hump’, but as it was before my time on the terraces I can’t say definitively.

Amazingly, I can see only two sailors in the crowd, a petty officer and a rating.

In the other photograph we see the Boilermakers’ Harmonic Society in 1915.

Anyone recognise the c hap wearing the clown’s make-up left of centre?!
