David Willcox was delighted to see the picture last month of the village shop at Lower Upham near Bishop’s Waltham.

The photo of the shop which triggered David Willcox's memory when it appeared on this page last month.

David said: ‘Back in the 1940s I remember the shop as a general store, but the picture shows the window full of boots and shoes, although the advertising board suggests that he did sell other things.’
