Engine room artificers are seen in training, a few of the 700 to 1,200 ‘Tiffy Boys’ between the ages of 15 and 20 who were there at any one time.

Until 1932 Fisgard comprised four old warships shackled together at the end of a long, rickety pier at Hardway, Gosport.
