Have your say

Barry Cox, author of The Trolley Buses of Portsmouth, is compiling a new book on trams in the city. He wonders if anyone would have a photograph lurking in their sideboard of one of the first horse-drawn trams that ran from the Town Station to Clarence Pier in 1865.

He is willing to pay a generous price for an original. Another plea from Barry is that he and like-minded friends have located an 1880 horse-drawn tram body in the Isle of Wight. It is in a derelict state, but it may be possible to restore or replicate it.

This tram body may have been in use on the mainland, some 20-30 years ago. Any information on this subject is urgently needed. Please contact myself or Barry on
