In 1954 she married Benny Read from Portsea and they ran betting shops at The Hard, Portsea, and in Highland Road, Southsea, in the 1960s.

The photographs come from both sides of the family and many of you might be able to recognise relatives or friends.

Maureen Read has captioned this picture: ‘Portsea Unemployed football team’. Her father, Jack Logan, is fourth from the left in the back row.
