Today we continue our summer holiday special with a second look at bygone Hayling Island.

This photograph on the seafront looking towards Southsea is undated, but the number and style of all those cars could be the 1940s or early 1950s.

The popularity of this car park was an early indicator that the days of the Hayling Billy line to Havant were numbered.
