Have your say

Can any of you remember Lumps Fort, Southsea, when it had a moat all around it?

A Mr Phillips of Fordingbridge Road, Eastney, tells me that when he was a lad at the end of the war, he used to go along with a lorry driver to pick up much of the waste bricks from the blitz on the city.

This was then taken to Lumps Fort and dumped in the moat. It was eventually filled up and grassed over.

Does anyone remember it?
