Have your say

For information about this picture I had to apply to Eddie Wallace, the former City of Portsmouth Police Fire Brigade and later Portsmouth City Police officer.

Eddie tells me the photograph includes PC 106 Eric Milton who became an ambulance driver attached to the City Police Fire Brigade and in 1942 joined the Royal Marines and played for Exeter City FC at various times as well as the City Police team after the war.

He took over a pub at New Milton when he retired.

In the centre is PC 74 Frank Brown who later became the Chief Constable of Norwich.

The photo may have been taken in the hall of the Methodist Church, Copnor Road, where PC Brown was a lay preacher.
